Notice of folding stats...

this is a small notice i decided to put together for the following members of our folding team: faulkner132, lil_Jimmie, Kov_Ice, Redfallon, Skipper, flanzig1, DarkHorse, StrykerPCMECH, and our very own Mystery_Folder.

as of the 12AM update on 7/28/05 from the EOC folding stats you all are set to overtake me in the points standings. the closest being faulkner at 109 days. i just wanted to let you all know that you days of catching me are about over. school starts back on August 23rd, i think is the date, and at that time my points should be back up to the 1.6-2.0k range. and unless Mystery Folder has a few more systems to add or Kov manages to get the computers at his school folding *wink wink* i will be leaving you all in the dust.
*evil laugh* hehehehehe

btw, Kov, if you want some help with a powerpoint or anything at all in getting them to allow folding don't be afraid to ask! you have helped me a lot so i'll do what i can to help you!

Happy Folding everyone!
Team 13761 All The Way!!!

I've been working on getting a couple more PIII's up and folding, but probably not for another month or so. I still don't think I would be competition for you enhanced!

... and I think Myster_Folder is shaking in his Gromacs Core!

It'll be good to see your name back in red enhanced.

If I were to join, where in the competition would I enter? At the bottom where I would not have a chance of catching up or somewhere in the midde? I am thinking of doing it anyway. I am curious about the competitive aspect of folding. Does PC Mech have a team?

You start pretty much at the bottom, yes... but because all the people at the bottom of the rankings aren't doing much, you move up very fast to start competing with the active folders.

So I guess I was wrong eh? I was convinced for some reason that "Mystery_Folder" on our team was you.

LOL...oh man! I am honored, but its not me. (still chuckling) I will join soon. I have access to one computer at work I can leave on and three computers at home.

One question though...does it eat up broadband width? ..or does it send back the numbers in chunks? (for lack of a better word) Bottom line, would it slow down my internet connection? If so, how much?

It's that rig in your signature that did it. I read that and get all glassy eyed and forget to blink for a few minutes.

The core will download your work unit (very small packet of data) and once the little packet is downloaded it does not connect again until the unit is complete and it sends the little packet back with results. I have been surfing the web while a work unit is being downloaded and didn't notice any lag at all.

In short... nope. It is virtually unnoticable when running. Just make sure you get the "Text Only Console". You will have fewer problems and you won't even notice it's there.

Well i've got a modest couple of 2.4gig P4 rigs and a 1.7gig p4 laptop, My AXP rig is down for repairs at the moment. I'll probly be adding a A64 rig in the next 6 month or so. All these A64 sigs have got me drooling. lol

Yea, but look at it this way. My totals 30 days from now will probably move me out of your group! We should be equally concerned with the trend line of the pcmech team. It's headed the wrong way!

well then.... you should get some of your fellow "Mystery Folding Friends" to join up as well. infact everyone should talk to their friends and family about folding for pcmech even if its under your name (more points for you that way! )

Hmmm, looks like Mystery_Folder is a funny guy eh?

I just got another PIII @ 600MHz pieced together from my scrap pile and it's up and folding. It's no FX-57, but every little bit helps. You gotta get that thing folding David... it's gonna be pretty incredible.
