Internet Connection Status Bubble
Is there a way to disable the status bubble? I have a network connection, that is never disconnected, but still every few minutes it pops up and tells me the speed. It is always the same speed. I run XP Pro SP2

Download and install TweakUI, open the program, go to "Start Menu and Taskbar", uncheck the "Enable Baloon Tips" checkbox. That is one of the first things I do when I install XP. There are a lot of other tweaks in there to mess around with too.

If you go into your network settings, there is a box to check/uncheck which will hide that icon completely.
