You'll notice the one upgrade they have removed (that is normally a upgrade option) is going from WinXP Home to WinXP Pro. Otherwise, you can put together a $2500 laptop for $1200 - not too bad at all. You might even make some coin on the deal by selling the laptop on eBay - although I'm sure plenty of others will see that 'option' as well.

I like Dell's Deal on some of the 9100 desktops. Can get a 2.8 dual core bla bla bla WITH a 20" Wide Screen UltraSharp LCD all fro under a grand. Darn monitors regular price is $699 by itself but has been on sale recently for around $525

why dont you pay and have it shipped to someone you know and trust very well in the US and have them ship it back to you in toronto?
