ATi announces new X1K series

I have just read that ATi has announced the newest generation cards, the X1K series. There will be 3 versions, the X1300, X1600, X1800, to what appears to be the budget, mainstream, and performance cards. It looks like ATi decided to go with a whole range of products, not just several faster cards.

Here is the run down on the new cards:

All cards will support MS DirectX 9.0 Shader Model 3.0, finally leveling with nVidia's top line. Previously the top ATi cards only supported version 2.0. All these cards will support CrossFire (along with the previous X800 and X850 series).

Keep in mind these numbers are anything but set in stone. In fact, while searching for these numbers, I got all different numbers, so we won’t really know until ATi releases more in depth specifications or the cards appear in stores.
