New quiz: can you name that bug?
OK, I just killed a type of bug I'd never seen before. The thing was about an inch and a half to 2 inches long, and it had two distinct and large body segments -- I couldn't see a distinct head segment; the head was either small or fused into the upper body segment. It was black, and it had a hard shell that coated its wings. It wasn't a june bug, or if it was, it was unlike all other june bugs I'd ever seen, because I've never seen one with the segmenting of the body like this had. The segmentation was pronounced, like an ant or a wasp might have.
Just curious as to what it was, I'd never seen a bug quite like it before. Anyone who knows more about bugs than I care to venture a guess as to what it was?

Can't say I know what it was, but I can only imagine the cruchy squish that it made.
