Test drive a Ford and get $50
I got this postcard from the local Ford Dealer. Is this a trap? Why would they give a $50 e-Gift card to Old Navy just to test drive a 2006 model? What is the catch? I read the postcard 10 times already and I even went to the website on the card. This does not compute.
What...you'll pay me $50 to test drive a 2006 Mustang? Oh ok...lol What could I expect when I go to the dealer to claim this? I'm leaving my wallet at home and I'll make an oath not to sign anything before going to the dealership. Should I even pretend that I'm really interested in buying a Ford?

The fine print sez "see dealer for details." Quite often that means that you have to buy a car... from somewhere / somebody, to qualify. To make sure, why not check out your local dealer?

Hope the gift card doesn't burst into flames like many of their vehicles.

I read this about 10 minutes ago, and then I just noticed Hal had replied. I figured it would have to do with something Bursting in to flames.

Its not new for dealers to offer incentives to getting you to test drive their vehicle. I've got similar ones from others. Of course its an Old Navy gift certificate (eep!) .. they dont expect you to immediately buy a mustang, they also hope that you will spread word about how you did not catch on fire .. at least in the 06 model!

For some folks it cost $50 in gas just to drive to the damn dealer.
Might go over better if they just clearly stated you will recieve $50 to watch a bonfire, heck I might even be up for that.

Make sure you bring a good sized fire extinguisher to the test drive. <-- This one is for HAL

It's possible the $50 cert is actually a $50 discount for a purchase over $xxx.

It think, if your are looking for a new car, go for, otherwise it is probably not worth your time, they might also want your adress, phone #, email, etc and claim its for documentation only; yet the next morning your inbox is 50% spam 50% more spam.....
