Custom Avatar - How?
OK, I see the "Do not use an avatar" radio button with the note under it saying that clicking the button will wipe out any custom avatar, but I don't see the radio button for choosing one's own custom avatar. What am I missing?
Thanks! |

You must be a 11-bit status member (1024 post) or greater in order to chose your own custom avatar.

That makes sense. Something like $30 a year? Looks well worth it to me.

Correct - you need 1024 posts or become a supporter to use a custom avatar.

A couple more things to keep in mind. The Supporter fee is meant to offset the advertising you normally see as popups. When you become a Supporter, those ads disappear. And the 1024 posts do not include posts in the General Discussion area.

Have read about this avatar stuff since joining forums. Is there any advantage to having an avatar, custom or not, or is it just a personal choice? Can't figure out the big deal. RevCLB

It's not vitally important, or worth post padding for, it just helps a little. If you use it to express a bit about yourself, bully for you. I personally use mine to scare people away from reading my posts so they don't wreck their computers doing something stupid like actually listening to me |

Rev, you paid to be a supporter. You can use a custom avatar right now if you want.

Is a copyrighted cartoon character allowed? Have had one in mind for some time now but didn't know I could have custom already. Thanks
