NewEgg and UPS

It's been 4 days since I placed my order and I still don't have tracking details. I don't even know if they shipped it or what. I paid for 3 day shipping so it better be here Monday or Tuesday or I'm going to flip out. Has anyone used UPS from NewEgg?

Yup, I use it all the time. You should be able to check your order status and if it's been shipped you can take the tracking number to the UPS site and find out the projected delivery date. Keep in mind the 3 days do not inlcude the weekend.

You should have gotten an email with a link to check the status on Newegg's end. You should have gotten a "Your newegg.com order info" email; in there is a link to check the status on the order. There's five steps, if it's on Step 5 it's been shipped. Otherwise it's still being processed. If on Step 5 you can click view and there should be a tracking number there. Also you'll get another email when it ships with a tracking number.

Keep in mind that 3 day shipping doesn't include Newegg's processing. It'll get to you in 3 days once it actually ships, not 3 days from when you order it.

You can also check order status from your account at newegg.

I'm on Step 5, and I have a tracking number, but it's been holding on "Billing Information Recieved" since Friday. I've used FedEx in the past and they're usually quick updating the tracking information and getting the package out of there.

Yep. I prefer it over FedEx as I get better service. There are a few people I know in my area, besides myself, that regularly have trouble with FedEx.

I hear people complain about FedEx often but I've never had a problem, especially from NewEgg. Just wondering if UPS was just slow updating their tracking information.

Like PR said, it's not going to go anywhere on the weekends. Check tomorrow evening and see where its at. Newegg probably hasn't dropped it off to UPS yet (or just hasn't been scanned in at UPS).

I'll check tomorrow. I've had Fedex drop off packages on Saturday and they usually update the tracking info on the weekends. I'm just getting itchy because class starts up again the 17th. Boooooooooo!

Just be glad you didn't order something from TigerDirect. They waited a week after my order to send me an email saying that I needed to call them in order to 'verify' my order (never had a prob with my debit card before). So I called, waited on the toll-free line for almost an hour, then promptly got hung up on. Finally made it through on my 2nd attempt, no so friendly this time, and asked why I had to essentially re-order this item (a LCD). No good answer, long story short I get to wait slightly over two weeks to get it. Had I known that, I wouldn't of ordered it. As it is, I won't do business with them again.

Zipzoomfly on the other hand had a order to my doorstep in just two short days, shipping was free. Can't beat that.

Haven’t done business with NewEgg yet, but from the sounds of this forum most people are happy with them.

Yes, I've heard bad things about TigerDirect. ZipZoomFly had amazing deals on graphics cards when I was looking for the Radeon I bought. I was half tempted to buy an x800 All in Wonder. They had it like $40 cheaper than anywhere else and it wasn't refurbished.

Hmmm... Well I'm not too far from you and I have had much better experiences with FedEx. UPS is pretty much garanteed to be 1 or 2 days late. With FedEx I my stuff always came within 3 days of ordering. With UPS, it is 4-5 days. I definetly prefer FedEx. I wish they would bring it back.

I have both FedEx and UPS service. I preferred when Newegg was using Fed Ex as their preferred carrier. The tracking info was more complete and fully linked at Newegg. Now, with UPS, you have to use the tracking number and go to the UPS site to find the delivery date and detailed package movement. FedEx was usually a day earlier than the expected delivery date too. About the same time that Newegg went to UPS, ZipZoomFly went the opposite and started using FedEx as their preferred carrier. When the prices are nearly the same, I've shifted my buying to ZZF just because of FedEx.

"billing info received" means that the label has been printed by the shipper and that tracking number and dollar amount has been transmitted to UPS...this will change when UPS scans in the package at one of their locations.

It is possible (and likely) that UPS has already picked up the package but, for some reason, the package was not scanned (this is usually caused by the package laying label facing down on the transport belt)...

(this explanation comes from my co-worker who worked for UPS for 20 years and has seen it all there)

Here's a perfect example of why I prefer FedEx to UPS. I ordered a vid card from Newegg last Thurs am and it was shipped that same day. UPS tracking shows receiving it that afternoon. It arrived at the local UPS depot, Wyoming, Mi, on Sat at 5:24AM. Because it was shipped 3 day service, it wasn't scheduled to deliver to me until tomorrow. UPS just delivered a package for my wife but my vid card is still sitting in the terminal - right where it's been all weekend - waiting for tomorrow's delivery. If this was FedEx, I'd have had the card today.

I've noticed that UPS takes a lot longer to update their tracking info, and it comes in spurts. There have been many times when I have checked all day to find nothing, then late at night a day's worth of info will appear.

I have been paying extra for FedEx shipping when I order from Newegg because I don't like UPS. One thing that bugs me is that UPS tracking info is inaccurate as to when things will arrive, often arriving earlier than scheduled. Yes, it may be nice to have things come a day earlier, but this seriously screws up any plans I make to take time off from work or actually be home when things are delivered by UPS. FedEx seems to be 100% accurate with their projected delivery times.

That's happened to me before too with car parts. I had a couple replacement parts shipped from an Audi dealer in Washington State for my Jetta and paid for the basic UPS ground shipping, 5-7 days. I saw the package arrived in NJ on day 4 and they held it in their facility that's 30 minutes away from my house for 3 days. I was so pissed because I was carless for that whole time. Fedex keeps the package moving constantly. I checked again today on the site and it still says Billing Info Recieved. I bet it won't even be here tomorrow which will be day 3 of my 3 day shipping. Never again UPS.

Well, I still haven't recieved my package yet. I guess I'll call them if I don't recieve it by tomorrow. Tomorrow will be day 6 of my 3 day shipping. Still says Billing Info Recieved under tracking info. I talked to a NewEgg rep and he confirmed the package left the NewEgg facility the 6th so this is UPS's fault. I hate UPS.

my last newegg/ups order was "missed at the ups facility," which i guess means, "oops, we forgot to put your box on the truck, heh." 3 day shipping took 4 business days, and it was delivered around 9:45pm. there was another case where they loaded my package on a truck for delivery, then late in the afternoon decided to take it back off and send it back out the next morning because it wasn't due for delivery until the following day. every newegg/fedex order i've ever placed arrived a day early and no later than 4:30pm.

Just like most people, my experiences with Newegg and Fedex was awesome. They delivered my Notebook from CA in three days. But when Newegg Switched to UPS my package was two days late of their original estimation.

After spending 40 minutes on the phone with UPS and NewEgg. I have found out that it is indeed NewEgg's fault after all. Their "Tennessee facility is experiencing problems". I'm guessing problems means "Out of stock", because the lady said they would upgrade the shipping to overnight when it became available again. Soooooo, I have to wait another week. This sucks.

I pay the extra money for Fedex when I order form newegg.....UPS has a habit of playing kickball with my packages. Not just that, but Fedex is always on time or faster....UPS is always slow.

I hope Newegg is watching this thread. I know they have watched this forum and even responded in the past. Bring back FedEx!

Sometimes I feel like the proverbial black-sheep as my experiences, in this area at least, are the opposite. I've never had a problem with UPS. With FedEx, I rarely get it on time, and they always have an excuse. One such excuse, after being 3 days late, is that my address doesn't exist! How could I not know my own address?? The very same thing happened to a friend of mine (and a fellow forum member). We both had to make a bunch of calls to get our stuff: I had to "walk" the driver in on a phone, and he had to show them (over the phone) how his address shows up on a couple different map services online.

His last new-build shipment from Newegg got delivered to the wrong address to somebody who was also expecting a delivery from Newegg. Can you imagine if that person hadn't noticed a different address on the extra boxes and just assumed that Newegg accidentally sent him too much stuff?? Fortunately, he did notice the wrong address and was an honest person and drove the stuff to my friends house.

Yeah, I think the performance of UPS/Fedex depends quite a bit on your locale. I've never had bad experiences with UPS here, and it's always on time. However, I'm not really sure how Fedex does, UPS has always been the choice since they seem to do a good job.

Actually, I don't know if I've ever seen a place to ship Fedex packages around here before. I've mostly seen UPS places here. (ie, you can drop off, package, and ship UPS at the local Staples) - I'm not sure where I'd go to ship Fedex.

Years ago, the first time I ordered something from Newegg FedEx could not find my house. My street is split by a canyon so there is a street with the same name on the other side of the canyon (a bridge was never built). Appearently the driver was on the other side and could not find my address. They called me that evening and the next day I had my package. Since then packages from FedEx have always arrived a day before the estimated arrival.

I ordered a CD-ROM drive for someone's PC a few weeks ago and the UPS "3 day" shipping ended up being 7 days.

TwoRails, maybe the FedEx driver in your area should be looking for another job.

I actually had that problem with fedex.... I even called the terminal and asked if I could pick it up....no go...

I would get my product 1 day early with fedex....now that they use ups... I never know when it's comming... usually at 8:00pm...

Service has not been the greatest from newegg since they switched to ups...I used to get parts in 3 days max from anywhere... now it's 8-12 days....I have stated this in my reviews at newegg....I even complained...I got no response on there behalf.... I have been ordering elsewhere....cheaper...plus there shipping prices have gone up too...

Edit: many times I have checked the tracking when I get the kids up for school....tracking says...Out to be delivered (on truck)...at 5:00am....still don't get here till 8:00pm...where has that truck been all this time.... I live 1/4 from the main terminal....?

I've had better experiences with USPS than UPS in the past. Although I can't blame them for this error as it was NewEggs', I have still had problems with them, like my Volkswagen parts as I said above. If USPS is available for shipping, I'll take it. I had a FrozenCPU purchase get here in 2 days by USPS in perfect condition. Usually takes NewEgg to get their packages here in 3 days, not including at least a day or 2 of processing time, coming from their warehouse about 2 hours north of here. I think I'll give ZipZoomFly a try for my futrue purchases. They always seem to have great deals and are usually about the same as NewEgg.

Bought all the parts for this build on newegg about three years ago. Fedex was a day early and everything was great. I hope when I buy my next build's parts I don't experience these problems with UPS. I wasn't aware that they had switched carriers. This certainly makes me wary of buying or recommending newegg to new users in the future.

They didn't switch carriers completely, but UPS 3 day select service is the default and cheapest now.
