Predictions for 2006...

Ed Felten over at Freedom to Tinker puts it all in print :

http://www.freedom-to-tinker.com/

Just below that he rates his predictions from last year.

Read it and groan or argue back, that's what it's there for.
I'm waiting to see what Cringley puts up over at PBS.

Interesting the difference between passive and active protection. If active protective requires some sort of obtrusive software which people simply won't want on their computers etc, then I don't see any way of stopping piracy. I don't think it can be stopped because for every measure intended to stop piracy there will be someone who finds a way around the measure. It will always be a game that the pirates will eventually solve.

After reading that I find it mostly the same predictions but just change a little bit, so what I'm trying to say they're not really going out too much on a limb with these predictions. So they're going to be mostly right again this year too, and that too me isn't too much of a suprise - IMO
