A+ certification books

I am new at this so please forgive me if I sound stupid. I am trying to find a book to study for the A+ certification, I heard from people the the book from Mike Meyer is the best, but there are conflicting opinions about different editions from this author. Some says the new edition, 5th edition I believe, is not as good compare to the others, but some said that it has helped them tremendously in passing the exam. I have found the 4th edition book online, so I would like to know what are your thoughts about the difference between the two editions. I would appreciate any help you guys can give me. Thank you.

I use Exam Cram 2, but I also practice and examine most of the material in person, either with hardware available to myself, or through online guides with pictures. I recomend not simply knowing the material, but actually understanding it rather than just having the facts to pass.

Usually a new edition gets published when the exam is updated.
The 5th edition is all i used for the A+ exam. The 4th edition would be a good starting point, but you will need to supplement it with other resources. You can find most of what you need on-line. Also, search for some free A+ tests on the web and try those.

I used several books while studying for the A+ exam, Mike Meyer's book included. It is a good book but I think the Exam Cram 2 book that Ryan mentioned is better. It's more specific to the exam.

Along with books, I would highly recommend the practice tests that are available. Exam Cram 2 has many practice tests included on the CD that is included. It is worth the extra money to get as many practice tests as possible. Take them over and over. When you can score 85-90% correct on the practice tests, you are ready for the real thing.
