jerome bettis, #36 for the steelers. He is a BIG guy at about 260lbs and is very quick for his size. Called the bus because he is so big and it takes a lot to stop him. I have seen him push 4 other guys at once! A very good player!

Speaking of the Bus, how many of you old timers remember the Diesel?

Hint - his quarterback is now a very obnoxious commentator for ESPN.

I'm not that old, but I know who it is. And your hint really narrows it down .

Heck, I can't remember that far back -- John Riggins (spelling?) comes to mind, though...

Yup! They used to blast a diesel horn through the PA every time he made a carry. The QB's name rhymes with Heisman.

I was on the way to deliver a pc last nite and had the 2nd game on the radio. Guess who the color announcer was? The Diesel hisself! Did a pretty good job too.

This is pure *rumor* central, but some guy at work today said he heard that somebody got $25,000 for a pair of Superbowl tickets!? If they did, then great for them, but that sure is a lot of money just to see a game (even if it is a great one)... Heck, but then, I think the "regular" price of the tickets is too high

Not only the cost of the tickets, but to buy stuff at the game (beer, food, other goods) would cost about $300 or more.3

That is insane. They are simly selling out. In lots of other sports (BMX and Skateboarding come to mind) - the ones-who-don't-sell-out's talent are often worshipped more and those who do sell out are looked down upon. With additional high cost advertising and comercials, somebody was attacked with greed. On top of that - it will become less about the sports and more about people trying to boast their wealth and success by being able to say they spent 25K on tickets to the SuperBowl - in some cases I think many Celebs and other highly wealthy people will go just to show off their wealth and they might not even be football fans.

Stadium Beer $8.00
Parking $20.00
Superbowl Tickets $600.00
Watching the game at home and not missing half of a quarter waiting in line at the restroom
Priceless

Aside from the athomosphere I prefer watching any sports game on TV, you get to see the whole action, your up close to the players and you get to see the replays over and over again without straining your neck or eyes.

I had UGA home game season tickets this year which were pretty much right on the back of the west endzone (second student section). The view is wonderful when they're playing on that side of the field, but horrible when they're not. Watching it on t.v. is great but watching it on the front row with 92,000 of yoru closest friends is even better. That places roars...

Some pro teams have a 20+ year wait for regular season tickets - they had an entire segment about it on espn. Some waits are so long that parents will put their child's name on the waiting list when they're born so that the kids can use them when they're in their 50's. They also allow children to inherit their parents' place in line if they pass away. Now those are hardcore football fans.
