Who is...Super Bowl bound?

Time for some playoff predictions. The wildcard games are over and eight teams are eyeing the Motor City to be part of the big show. Some interesting matchups coming up. Who ya pickin'?

Steelers - Colts: Steelers better lose the post play attitude. Way too many penalties against Cinci. Can Peyton get his stroke back?: Colts

Patriots - Broncos: New England is healthy again and Brady is hitting his targets: Pats

Panthers - Bears: Another defensive slugfest: Da Bears

Redskins - Seahawks: 102 yds total offense won't beat the 'Hawks. And stopping Alexander for 60 minutes is too much to ask: Seattle

My list is only different in one spot: Steelers vs. Colts.

As healthy as Pittsburg is, I don't think they can be stopped. When they have their heads together, as they did in the second half of yesterday's game, they are almost unstopable. I'm picking Steelers on this one.

It should be interesting to see a Pat vs. Steeler game - they are both going in very strong.

I too have 1 difference (and my heart is probably ruling on this): Panthers over the Bears...

My heart is with ya on the Steelers but my instincts say Colts. I'd like nothing better than The Bus being able to play his final (probably) pro game in his home town!

I'm a Colts fan, through and through . But I am a bit worried about this game, the boys in blue need to have their heads on straight and playing at home should help. The Steelers are looking pretty good though...

In the end, I think everyone in Indianapolis, fans, players and coaches, wants a Super Bowl win too much for us to lose.

Broncos vs Pats - Broncos (even though the Pats are healthy I don't think they got it this year)
Colts vs Steelers - I'm going with an upset Steelers (Manning seems to choke at the most inappropiate time namely the playoffs)
DaBears vs Panthers - Da Bears....I like them although I wouldn't be shock if Panthers won.
Seahawks vs Redskins...Seahawks specially if Washington played like they did last week.

Superbowl Seahawks vs Steelers ......winner Steelers

As a general rule, defense tends to rule in the post-season. That means that Seattle is probably going down. The Colts should beat the Steelers with their porous pass defense. So I am thinking that it will be:
Panthers vs. Seahawks in the NFC
Winner Panthers
Colts vs. Pats in the AFC
Winner Colts
Panthers vs. Colts in the Super Bowl
Winner Colts.

The biggest if to me is if the Colts can finally get past the Pats. Washington is playing really good but their offense is too anemic to get more points than Seattle.

Seems to me that anything can happen, but I'll be rooting for my old home team, DA Bears!. I'd like to see a Steelers and Bears Superbowl, but I think that's probably wishful thinking.

Broncos vs Patriots => Patriots (this hurts, I hate the Patriots)

Colts vs Steelers => Colts

Bears vs Panthers => Bears, I don't think the Panthers have it this year.

Seahawks vs Redskins => Seahawks (go Seattle, my favourite team... time we saw them doing something)

Patriots vs Colts => Colts

Bears vs Seahawks => Seahawks WOOOHOOO

Colts vs Seahawks => Seahawks

Broncos v. Patriots - Patriots
I personally think that Bill Belichick can find a way out of many hard times. Jake Plummer has gotten considerably more consistant - on the other hand, the Pats defense has gotten immensely better and healthier.

Colts v. Steelers - Colts
I think a lot of us forgot how talented Peyton Manning really is.

Bears v. Panthers - Bears
I feel pretty good about this one. The Panthers running game is not too consistant.

Seahawks v. Redskins - Seahawks
Yes, all the attention is going to Sean Alexander and his tremendous run to tear apart Priest Holmes' name in the record books. I think a lot of us forgot how explosive QB Hasslebeck can be and his receiving corps.

We'll see how this turns out. I'm not too happy in terms of what Pittsburgh did to the Bengals in terms of back to back injuries in Q1. I hope that doesn't happen to Peyton Manning.

Steelers - Colts: Steelers. San Deigo showed everyone how to beat the Colts - run, run, run and quick strike passes. Same offense the Steelers run. And one other reason - The Bus.

Patriots - Broncos: Broncos. Pats don't play well in Denver and never really have.

Bears - Panthers: Panthers. Steve Smith in simply the biggest offensive weapon in the playoffs. Most points scored, most TDs - Bears D is good, but when Smith is covered the Panthers have other targets.

Seahawks - Redskins: Seahawks. Easiest pick of the week. Portis won't stand a chance against that D and the Redskins' D won't stand a chance against Alexander.

colts over pittsburgh
panthers over bears
skins over seahawks.

Steelers - Colts : Colts .. dont see Cowher having the ability to scheme, or manage a game against the Colts. I am tired of watching the Steelers take penalty after dumb penalty on defense. I just know I'm going to have to listen to some CBS schmuck qualify a flag with "...Polamalu, in real life, is the nicest guy you will have met..."
Pats - Broncos - too close to call. On the one hand this is in Mile High .. on the other, is there anything that the Pats are going to be surprised by?
Bears - Panthers - Panthers .. I dont see the Bears being able to repeat their regular season meeting.
Alexander vs Redskins : Alexander

Didn't see this coming!

Wow, Denver made it look easy. Uncharacteristic turnovers and an inability to stop the Bronco's offense means the dynasty will sit out The Bowl this time. C'mon Steelers!

I was hoping the Pats would repeat a third straight. Very uncharacteristic of Bill Belichick to let such a error-prone lineup continue through much of the game.

As for Super Bowl-bound, I'm gonna say the Seahawks def. Colts. How about Hasslebeck today - I called it!

2-0 thus far. Picked both as winners (with spread) and took the over on both games as well. Nice day for me .

But todays picks are also my longshots - I picked the unders on both and didn't go with any winners bet. But I still feel the Panthers and Steelers will take the day.

Me and some friends are tailgating in downtown Detroit for the Super Bowl. Would any of you Michigan boys care to join us?

Just
End
The
Season

sigh.....my team stinks again. Oh well we had a couple good years, and it is the Jets after all, so I am quite used to it.

Indy and Chicago in the Super Bowl is my call.

I couldn't believe the Broncos/Patriots game. That was the worst football I've seen from the Patriots in what seems like forever. Every singe point the Broncos scored was off of a turnover. The Patriots must have had 3 fumbles. The got a pick off of a TOUCHDOWN PASS and ran it 100 friggen yards. I just could not believe it. The entire game the Pats were stopping the Broncos offense and destroying the blitz...then a patriot would fumble it or some crap! I'm really disappointed, that was the Pat's game. The way I see it, the Broncos didn't win, the Pats just lost.

Right now, it's looking like Denver vs. Seattle - the Steelers look great today (or do the Colts look awful?) but they are gonna have their hands full in Denver next weekend.

Hmmm........Colts just scored as I'm typing this - do I smell a comeback?

Steelers 21, Colts 18 - Final.

I'm 3-0 this weekend and that game was one of my unders (48, game total was 39) - now, where do I send the check and how do you spell the Colt's kicker's last name?

Now I need Chicago and Carolina to stay under 30.5 and the Panthers to win.
