Apple's design team always makes a sharp-looking product. Not too bad on the price, since it likely might fall a bit after it's been out for a while [at the moment, though, a comparable XP(or soon Vista) loaded Toshiba might be had for quite a bit less].

My guess on the dual-boot scenario will be that it can be done [likely any number of multi-boot systems are possible], but that the age-old "Void the Warranty" catch will be the price. Not a big deal for those comfortable enough to multi-boot in the first place.

Should be interesting, too, to see if there are any software issues with the new engines underneath. I wonder if updated recompiled versions will add another cost to folks with G4s moving up - the updates aren't likely to be free.

Should be interesting

Thats another thing I'm not happy with Apple about. Their pro apps are ready to go on Intel processors, the same versions as the PPC, but Apple are charging a $50 cross grade fee to their customers. I could understand charging a little fee for new disks, or a large fee if the software was a new version release, but to charge people $50 to swap out a disk when you're also asking them to buy a $2000 machine is a little off.

It reminds me of the Tiger release. Tiger only came on DVD, if your Mac only had a CD you had to buy tiger then send off a form with an additional $15 to get the CD's. To me thats just wrong.

I can't wait for a 17" MacBook Pro to come out, of course, with battery life statistics! If it gets at least 4 hours like my current Dell 17" Inspiron 9300, I'd snatch it up in a heartbeat.
