Lots of corrugated cardboard

What kind of place (either online or bricks and mortar) would I have to go to in order to get large sheets of corrugated cardboard. Say 20'x20' (yes, thats feet and not inches)? Also, how would I transport it? If it can't be transported, then what to people who need large sheets of corrugated cardboard do?

A casual Google search only returns sheets up to 4x8 feet.

What are they for? To get them I assume you'll have to get sheets that can be folded/unfolded. While you could theoretically ship larger, the costs would be astronomical. You'd have to find a carrier to move it for you.

I have several customers that make corrugated containers. (Don't call it cardboard - they get upset!) They start with raw stock of heavy paper and run in thru machines to produce the end product. The large rolls of paper are about 5 - 6 feet wide. That's the maximum that can run thru the machines. I don't know of any manufacturer that can make 20' wide rolls of paper or machines that can handle 20' wide paper either. Bottom line - you can't get there from here!

Here either...My pops works at a corrugated container fascility....plus the competitor is close by...no luck....my sugestion....4x8 and lots of duct tape....

As a side note*** not a good idea to build corrugated structures in a rainy climate....tends to melt the structure under slight moisture preasant condidtions***....

Since it seems that I cant get them that size, what good way is there for me to get a bunch of sheets of as large a size as possible, and attach them? It would need to be strong and sturdy.

Check the yellow pages for Corrugated Manufacturers near you. Give them a call and see if you can score any scrap. They always have damaged product or overruns.

The logistics of moving something 20' x 20' is impossible. Most overpasses are not that tall and transporting something 20' wide would mean shutting down roads. Maybe one of those "guppy" transport planes might be able to handle the job...but then getting the cardboard from the factory to the airport would probably make it impossible. I doubt it is made in that size for those reasons.

Just out of sheer curiosity, why do you want a piece of cardboard that big? There might be other options.

Maybe 20' by 20' isn't necessary. I'll look into 12' by 12' or 10' by 12' or something like that. And I guess I'll call a manufacturer. Thanks.

BTW, is that stuff expensive?

Are you ever going to answer the other questions? What are you using the cardboard for?

The only thing I can figure that would take a box that sized is a car, and you can't ship cars FedEx.

Even if you could, imagine the cost... they charge enough for a small box that only weighs a couple of pounds!

I did a project for engineering last year and could not find any sheets larger than 6' x 8'.

Your best bet would probably be going to the back of a large appliance store and looking in the garabge. Theres usually tons of it and its free.
