Question Windows Vista...

I was catching up with DLTV.com : http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1895,1933416,00.asp
where they've finally got Vista running, the latest beta (or CTP).
Their specs were, XP2500+, 768mb ram, and an X700 (Which Vista considers 'unknown').
They were able to use the 3D Aeroglass effects with this set-up on a widescreen LCD and Vista was responding promptly.
Just what does Microsoft really mean by "modern processor"?
Next up was an editor from 1UP who mentioned just what Vista would be doing on the game side and it turns out the "It will make all older games lag horribly" supposition may be dead wrong but we'll still have to wait and see.
Check out channels 2 and 3 for yourself, it's streaming video.

I take minimum requirements with a grain of salt. I run several games that my PC supposedly cannot run and they run fine with no problems at the highest graphical settings.

I think it looks pretty cool. I have never figured out why so many enthusiasts hate eye candy. I'm actually looking forward to Vista, not just because of the new interface. I like being up to date. I won't buy it right away but I will buy it eventually.

It seems like many people don't want to accept any changes, especially when it comes to the interface. I welcome changes as long as they don't impede productivity or ease of use.

The feb CTP is the first "feature complete" build, which means that there should only be fixes, driver updates to the rest of Vista. It works fine for me on a mere P4 2.4 (cept for some devices missing drivers)
