fqpissed Animated GIFS??

What's the deal - I come on here tonight and my avatar's gone. Go to upload it again and I get a message saying I can't use animated images for my avatar?? What gives?

**EDIT** I cleared my cache and my avatar is back - but what was with that message? Is that for real - if I change my avatar I won't be able to change to a animated image?

I don't see anything in the vBulletin settings to prevent animated avatars.

I made a post about this a while ago and PMed one of the mods (Hal I think)... I don't think we ever found out why.

Okay, I found it. Correct - as it stands right now, you cannot upload a new animated avatar. The staff is discussing this before I make any changes.

Okay, it's enabled. 20k filesize limit, annoying and inappropriate ones in the staff's judgement will be removed, if you put one up and it disappears you will know what happened - we have the same attitude here as we do for sigs.

Hey Sonic, How do you keep your Giraffe bouncing up and down & winking it's eye? Does it eat site cookies?

Nope - it's planting malware in HAL9000's system.

It is an animated GIF (a GIF is a type of image file). Basically, various photos together in a repeating pattern so that they look like it is moving.
