is this real?

got this email:

Microsoft, security360webcast, april 18: secure connection infrastructure.

i only recieved this on one mail account (i have 3), it looked bogus so i deleted it, what do you think?

Probably...did you sign up for any notifications from MS? Did it ask for personal information?

I think I got the same one last week. It is probably legit. Did you sign up or register anything at MS, a flash drive maybe?

yep, a flash drive. anyway i didn't take a chance. i'm really suspecious of unknown email and i had read about some bogus microsoft stuff.

I figure if something is important enough, they can send it to me via snail mail. Sending something fraudulent via the USPS is a felony, which acts as a reasonably good filter against scams.

If something comes to me asking for personal information, it is probably a scam. If I go to it, then the chances are that it is not a scam.
