Any other shortcut deletes the "usual" way....Delete - Confirm - Gone

Still just beyond ridiculous... I'm happy with XP and probably will be for a long time to come.

I read an article on exactly this "feature" a few months ago. Seems like M$ has moved from not caring too much about security to caring too much about showy pointless security. Makes me feel all nice and warm inside.
![]() I don't think that unauthorized deletions of shortcuts has been a huge security issue in past versions of Windows. Unless they filx the things that have been problems, such as too-tight integration between the OS and IE, for example, then what's the point of this "improved" security? |

It looks like they're trying to emulate the "root" function of Linux... but not quite succeeding
