An annoyance on a new USB Memory Stick

Hi all,

I purchased a new memory stick as my old one is held together by nothing more than super glue. It's a Cruzer micro 1.0 GB. When I plugged it in, software loaded up. I thought no big deal, as I can just format the drive and get rid of the useless software. However, somehow Cruzer tricked Windows into believing that the software is located on a CD-ROM drive.

The stick actually has two partitions on it, one for my data and another for their program. The one with their program shows up as a CD-ROM, so I cannot format it to remove the program.

Any ideas on how to remove this CD-ROM partition, or at least remove the program?

Nope, it shows the partition as a CD-ROM.

Have you got a copy of Partition Magic? or a bit of a long shot what about harddrive diagnostic tools? you would have to enable USB legacy in the BIOS and see if you can see it with the HDD diagnostic tools.......ah are you using the Dell in your sig? can you access the bios and enable USB legacy on a Dell?

I doubt if there is anything that you can do with it.

I just got a Corsair Flash Voyager. It came with nothing on it not even a pdf telling how to use that some put on there.

I've got the same stick - I hate that Cruzer software - it's messed up my computer twice. I don't even use it any longer. Last SanDisk product I purchase.

I didn't see anything about USB Legacy... but I did see USB Emulation. I have no clue what that does, though.. .
