you have to be quick quick quick with these. the dells are limited to 4000 entries (please note: not uses but entries) and sometimes the uses get used up before you have a chance to pull the trigger.

I tired applying the 25% off coupon to the 24" monitor - but it already is 15% off and I could not override the existing coupon. So I tried the same thing under the Small Business side - still 15% off and you can't override with a better coupon. I tried the other two monitors - same deal. And most of the Dell laptops have a existing discount being applied as well and I'm betting the same thing will happen.

So...anyone figure out or know how to override the existing coupon and apply the better coupon? Preferably without calling Dell...they can be such a pain to deal with on the phone always trying to upgrade this and that purchase.

Also...why does Dell always do this? Send out preferred members coupons and then you can never use them?

i read thru the "rules" on a coupon. it seems that if there is already a discount no other discounts can be applied (slick huh?).

I guess you have to find something that has no discount previously applied.

Yeah, the real good deals are where Delll allows you to stack coupons (sometimes by accident). However, this rarely happens anymore (and probably for good reason).

And that appears to be nothing that is covered by these coupons. Very slick. And honestly, par for the course with Dell.

Not true. Keep in mind that they have already expired. I ordered a computer for a guy earlier in the week and saved around $150.

Missed the original post date...

I still don't like Dell - haven't paid me on three rebates (one is only 3 months old...so you never know).

I tried using the 30% off Inspiron laptops a couple weeks ago and it did override the instant 100 dollar savings for the E1505... the catch was it had to be 999 dollars or more before it would remove the 30%.

Expect Dell to stop doing this kind of stuff - they are supposed to be streamlining their whole pricing model.

Does this mean that they would stop running their continuous specials on items, or is it just coupons and rebates on the cutting block?

I had used a $750 off coupon for my laptop below. It originally had a $500 off discount, but the coupon was allowed to be used.

large retailers are moving away from mail in rebates - they are just not worth the hassle and costs in administering them + you run the risk of alienating your customers (as we have seen many times here) if/when they are not properly processed and fulfilled.

Best buy is implementing this, dell appears to be following suit.

I can understand why rebates (better profit dollars for the retailers) but in today's age, it is much easier to just push a button, instantly file and redeem it rather than "fill out this, cut out this, mail it hear" etc.
