Hi, everybody- got a question about where to find an intuitive website proggie
I am really clumsy with stuff like this, so I need a user-friendly,free (preferably) website design proggie.
My friend wants a website for his window cleaning business. I got the domain all set up but am having a hard time using the templates godaddy offers. They are confusing to my feeble brain. Can you suggest a free proggie? TIA

I have seen that around for awhile. Seems just like Frontpage or something. Can't speak to the cleanlyness of the code, but it you aren't shooting for some big site then I doubt it'd be that big a problem. Editing code by hand can be a potential problem though, since it can sometimes be awkwardly done by the WYSIWYG editors, but I guess that's why you have the program . Oh ya, and it's free.Hope that helps. Last edited by ZeratulsAvenger; 09-15-2006 at 08:48 PM. |

Well, I downloaded it and created a page but can't figure out how to publish it. I think I am failing to identify the right address for the ftp proggie to send the file to.
Hmmm, I'm using 0catch.com. See, told you I was a dummy with this stuff. |

Most I can do it point you to this part of the site: http://www.nvu.com/websitehelp.php
Beyond that, I guess I can only say fiddle with it or sometime soon someone will come along with a concrete answer soon, probably. |

If I were you, I would purchase the most basic hosting plan from GoDaddy. OCatch may be free, but they are going to place their banner ad at the top of the page. For just a few bucks a month, you can have much more space with GoDaddy, and it can ad free if you choose, or you can place your own ads on it instead and try to earn a little cash that way. If you go this route, GoDaddy has many articles on helping you set up your account and getting your first page published; they will also call you and help you set it up.

GoDaddy does domain registrations really well...and hosting really bad. I would advise you to get another host.
