Home Security System
A bud sent me this:
HOW TO INSTALL A HOME SECURITY SYSTEM . 1. Go to a second-hand store and buy a pair of men's used work boots, size 14-16. 2. Place them on your front porch, along with a copy of Guns and Ammo magazine and your NRA magazines. 3. Put a few giant dog dishes next to the boots and magazines. 4. Leave a note on your door that reads: "Hey Bubba, Jim, Duke and Slim, I went for more ammunition. I'll be back soon. Don't mess with the pit bulls -- they attacked the mailman this morning and messed him up real bad. I don't think Killer took part in it but it was hard to tell from all the blood. Anyways, I locked all four of 'em in the house. Better wait outside. Catch you all later

When I was in my teens My friend's dad was a police officer and I like what he put on his window at his home. It was a sticker that went something like this "You don't have to worry about the dog, but you better worry about the owner" and it had a picture of a hand holding a hand gun. I always laughed when I went over to the house, but looking back on it, it did give the message clear and to the point.

Hehe, I like that a lot Sarge
![]() Course, here in England, I'd have to threaten them with something a bit less effective than a gun. Maybe if I could get my mother to visit.... ![]() FK

A few moons ago at our neighborhood meeting, we had an officer give a speech. He said one of the best things one can do is put a couple of huge dog dishes outside, even put a name like "Brutus" on each. A would-be crook sees the dishes but no dog and figures the big-un might be inside the house. Worth a few bucks on the dishes.

The best alarm system really is a dog...all they need is food, water and a little attention.

Just don't lay it on too thick...so much it looks un-natural...then again, crooks probably aren't bright enough to figure that out...

Just as effective as a dog... a beware of dog sign... don't have to feed or cleam up after that one... same with on your car... a blinking red light had at radio shack for a couple of bucks is just as effective as the car alarm that nobody looks at when it goes off... theives go to the car without the blinking red light.... if those two little items don't work.. then it really doesn't matter because now you're dealing with an experienced theif who really doesn't care about either of those things and knows how to handle them.
