LCD TV's are already "killing off" plasma as LCD technology gets better allowing for larger LCD pictures displacing the very large screen TV market which was once dominated by plasma. I wonder how Laser and LCD compare?..which the article does not compare. The article mentions some guys prediction that 40" will be the crossover point between LCD's and plasma's. Well surprise, surprise...Samsung already makes a 57 inch LCD. . So really, it seems the competition for Laser will be against LCD's and not so much plasma as LCD's get larger and displace plasma in the uber-massive "have to get a drive-in theatre sized TV" market.

The article mentions "twice as good, and use a quarter of the electricity of conventional plasma and LCD TVs". Well, how can one say one quarter of both when LCD's use less power than plasmas?. The Laser TV marketing guys need to pick one or the other since there IS a difference in power consumption.

Wow...thats a steal on that 20" monitor! Time to nag my boss about getting rid of my 17" BlurrVision monitor.

The real question is, will laser TV's actually be cheaper for the consumer, or will it just remain as a higher profit margin for the manufacturer/distributor/seller?

Excellent, these TV's are right around the corner timewise! I wonder about their durability (average hours before failure) which I have not seen any mention of. It's also nice to see some new technology coming out of Australia. Please don't take that in a negative context you Aussies...(It's a complement) .

i wonder what these T.V's will be like for viewing angle . I personally choose a plasma T.V over a LCD because i can watch it from were ever i want , I still like my plasma better then any LCD on the market .

LCD's have improved the viewing angle substantially. This LCD TV has a 178 degree viewing angle. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-Defi...092421?ie=UTF8

I'll take an LCD over plasma anyday.... to me, I can see every pixel on a plasma and it doesn't look as smooth to me... every single one I have seen looks grainy to me.
