old dell

So I go this old dell.

Dimension 8000 or some crap.. I have a service tag/code deal but where can I go to find whats in this system?

The system does not run, bad hard drive. The only thing I do know is it has a Sound Blaster Live, GF 2 MX AGP card, Rambus & P4.

I want to part it out but I kind of need to know the specs of it.

Be careful, Dell is known to use proprietory power supplies and corresponding power connectors on their motherboards. I'm not sure about this model in particular, but in any case you'll probalby want to sell the PSU and motherboard together. HTH

That is not a bad laptop Airmack. It is slow by todays standards and cannot run the newer games but my Inspiron 8000 has been 100% reliable. I would not label it as "crap".

I believe PC Brandon posted the parts for an Inspiron 9300. I could post my Belarc report on my 8000 if you are interested. Dell's website has a special feature where you enter in your service tag number and it will tell you many things about your computer although it is not as comprehensive as Belarc.

You will pretty much only be able to sell those parts (pretty much) to someone else with a Dell 8000 laptop of that vintage or similar Dell laptop. Personally, I would keep it in one piece and sell it for a hundred bucks.

David, I posted a link to the feature on Dell's website that allows you to enter in a service tag to see the original system configuration. What you saw below that was my signature.
