Something for our active members today...

This is for all 768 of you! Yes, it's Christmas for Yahoo search spiders, too!!!

Is it OK to go online on Christmas Day?

And yet, after all that, perhaps the reason you're surfing today is simply that it's something to do. We like to think that Christmas should be a day unlike any other, but once you've opened your presents, eaten your dinner and played with your children's toys, what you've got left is pretty much a day like any other

Heh, that article has got you covered, 786ARS!

Another possibility is that a merry Yule is going on all around you, but you refuse to let it happen to you. You may, for example, be a non-Christian who can't see why the fact that Jesus was born on an unknown date should oblige you to cover a fake fir tree with tinsel, eat sprouts and watch The Vicar of Dibley in his name.
Must be the cynic in me

Well, most of my "fun" gifts can't really be used today - too cold to go out to my garage and lift; and too much rain to hit the driving range. Besides, I got Elements 5; even more reason to go online and play around with some images. While my mom and cooking and my dad is watching X-Files; there isn't much else to do but browse the 'net.

well I spent all day doing some reasearch for parts for a project I want to build, and studing, and ordered some parts.
today is no differant from any other day to me.
in the past, it used to be a triple pay day.

When I was a kid it was cartoons on TV, as a teen it was girls, as an adult it's the internet. No harm...no foul. I spent lots of time with the family today...time to wind down a little. Not into ball games and don't have any movies to watch...so why not a little internet time? No guilt here.

Hey 786ARS,
Thank you.
We're not too clear on yours but we're getting there.
I know there are major Muslim holidays but I just don't know ( and I guess no one else does ) what's appropriate.

I hate to be so condescending, but what does the author actually think of himself?

Well, one of the Eid's coming up, after Hajj. My parents were supposed to go this year, and leave me in the supposedly capable hands of my sisters. But even though they applied for their visas in may, the Saudi Embassy did not grant them their visas, which was a really big downer, and especiall because they had the audacity to tell them on the very last day, two days before they were scheduled to leave.

Thank you - I wish more non-Christians would react the same way you do. It is unfortunate that too many folks take offense to the simple saying.

I didn't get to prove or disprove the article as my service has been down for almost two days now... just came back up a short while ago. Belated Merry Christmas to those who do celebrate it, and happy holidays for those that celebrate other holidays!
