To Potter or not to Potter...

It's true, I have all the Harry Potter books, in paperback.
So those kind folks at Amazon just figured all I'd need would be a heads-up to pre-order the last volume as a hardcover.
It worries me that I'm actually considering doing just that
Any other closet Potterphiles out there?
What say you ?

Something just sounds wrong about "potterphiles".

I always thought that the term pedophile was bad coinage. It means, literally, lover of children- which is a noble thing.
The term pedosexual is more precise, I believe.

Not to potter. I have not completed one book of the series.

Like Francophile and Anglophile it's an innocent coinage.
English is a glory and the ability to create "Potterphile" is why.
Don't give in to the "It sounds like.." people.

They're not mind stretching, unless you really are eight, but like all good books they'll repay anyone who is willing to take the time.

Kick back on an afternoon with nothing else to do ( That's what got me the first time. ) and enjoy.

My Potter books are in paperback - more like soft cover cuz they're larger that the small pocket size paperbacks. But I prefer hard cover books in my collection. Choice is really yours Pam. Can you wait for the paperback to complete your collection or do you feel you have to read the book NOW?

I have plenty of friends that will buy the hardcover - one in particular who will finish it the day he buys it. I'm already first in line to borrow his. Then I'll buy it in paperback once it's out.

the only problem i have with the books is they only last me a day and they keep getting shorter , after a few years of waiting for one you just hammer through it enjoy it but then you have to wait for the next one .

My 12 year old son loves those books. I tried reading the first one. Got bored. Not my cup of tea. Tom Clancy is more my style.

You being a seafarer, have you read any of Clive Cussler's yarns? He's a little far fetched on occasion but I thoroughly enjoy his books.

They were such good books back when I was much younger, but the latency between releases resulted in me not finishing the last 2.

I'm a collector of hard-cover books, and I definitely enjoy the series. In fact, I think I've purchased the last three on pre-order from amazon.

As for Clancy, I loved his early stuff and have every one of his books as well. The last several have been dogs, tho, and hard to even get through...

Personal favorite of late: Stephen King's Dark Tower series. Exceptional.
