Anna Nicole dies

Did you here that Anna Nicole Smith has died.

I think it is very suspicious (spelling) that she has passed away weeks before the DNA test was to be completed.

Question.

Do you think she is really dead, or is she getting ready to leave the country?

I heard she's meeting up with Elvis and JFK in the Bermuda Triangle.

Well....I find it kinda absurd that they compare her to the bombshell, the late Marilyn Monroe. Gimme a break!

Well she knew how to make headlines.. No she was no Marilyn Monroe, but she probably had looked the closet of the one who have tried ie Gwyn Stefani, Madonna

She was a pathetic figure leading a tumultuous life. Trouble with a capital T. Quirky in an endearing fashion. May God rest her soul.

the only way to avoid being exposed as a human being (with human faults) is to die young.

marilyn monroe died young but had she been alive today, i'm sure inside edition (and the like) would have shown her to be human (not so hot without makeup, cellulite in a bikini, filing for divorce, plastic surgery, etc...)

The only reason she only became famous is because of her looks and she married an old geezer with money, somehow I find it amazing the people who do have money are never happy with themselves. Anna Nicole fits that to a tee; however, towards the end of her life she diffidently had a tragic ending, losing her son, having a two men claim to be the father of her baby, and now this (I'm kind of interested in what the autospy is going to find). Just like someone said earlier in this thread "Be careful what you wish for...."

The problem is, we ALL saw Anna's glaring faults. You'd have to be blind to not notice. Not that I'm much better.... But still, dying young didn't help her too much.

had she died just after she posed for playboy, she would have been remembered as a wonderful young (hot) lady.

I'm really curious as to what the autopsy will show....was it drugs? My wife said that now authorities are speculating that her bodyguard may be involved...

Well that's what being in the public eye will do though... take any person and let the media track your moves and see what gets spilled out... they're not looking for the positives, that's boring... news wants the dirty side of things for ratings.

For example... what is on the news... car wrecks, plane crashes, murders, fires, what celeb is breaking up with who... sure it would be nice to hear a nice story... I'll never forget how appreciative my dad was when he carried his groceries home to his apartment and three university students helped him.. one grabbed the bags, two helped him up the stairs... when they got to his apartment, they put all his groceries away for him and asked if there was anything else they could help him with.... great story, but does anyone want to hear about the kind act of those three girls on the news... nope, you'd change the channel.

I am going to say what no one else has said:

so what?

she is just another troubled individual, leading a troubled life, who had some adversity and died. I am sorry she died...untimely death by unnatural causes is always a sad thing but:

why does she rate the front page and hours upon hours upon hours of news coverage on every new channel in existence? there are others just like her whose passing wouldn't/doesn't rate anything more than just the legal minimum death notice in the local paper.

Ditto.

I don't have cable and I don't really watch TV news so I have no idea what coverage was really like, but I heard that stations like CNN and MSNBC bumped their normal programs for hours and hours of coverage of this ridiculous story.

Anybody's death is a tragedy for their friends and family and loved ones, and it certainly is sad when somebody dies. But considering everything that is going on in the world, the attention that this story has been given is disgusting. And, a poor reflection on what kind of society we live in, to be frank.

My thoughts exactly. CNN is usually particularly bad about dragging news stories out -- this is just another example. If they don't have any actual "news" on a story they just regurtitate the same stuff over and over and talk to so called "experts" and the like to fill air time.. This is why I get most of news online from sources like Reuters these days. The stories are written, short, concise and to the point -- just how I like my news -- because it allows me to see more news in the same amount time instead watching seeing the same stuff over and over. This is probably the reason I recently setup a google homepage with one tab covered with just news feeds -- maybe 8-10 sources. I glance at it and click on what I want to read. Siince news sources are diverse, the news is usually is too (i.e not focused on one story or one country's news), which is great.

This is a byproduct of the "all news" networks and cable/satellite TV. They have to do something to fill airtime 24/7. In the "old days" all we had were 3 over the air networks (CBS, NBC, ABC) which had only so many hours a day dedicated to news (local and national/international) - and they had to be efficient. Back in those days they did not broadcast 24 hours a day either. Then again, back in those days everyone read newspapers and most cities had competing papers and both morning and evening editions.

That's true to a large extent, but it's not just the cable news stations that are blowing this story out of proportion. I read that NBC Nightly News spent 14 seconds on Iraq and the fact that four Marines died in combat on yesterday's newscast, while they spent over three minutes on Anna Nicole Smith's death.

Now, the top story on Excite is that Zsa Zsa Gabor's husband is saying that he might be the father of her child. This is rapidly becoming farce.

The TV news has simply become a video version of the supermarket tabloids. It's what people want to see and hear - really speaks well for the average mentality of today's people, doesn't it?

It was stupid before but it's getting more stupid all the time. Zsa Zsa Gabor's 63-Year-Old Husband Claims He Fathered Anna Nicole Smith's Baby Girl.

There should be a big line forming to see who the father of the baby is since they will have to manage that babies billions before they become of age.

Geez, everybody's trying to get into the act and get their 15 minutes of fame out of this. But they're all wrong...I'm the father of Anna Nicole's baby girl. I used astral projection to have intimate relations with her.

Just kidding...I can't stand Anna Nicole Smith and really couldn't care less about all this.

you've got 24 hours to fill but only 4 or 5 hours of stuff (maybe) so you stretch it all to fit, or, as has happened in the past, you make stuff up to fill in the blanks.

it used to be that facts, verified facts, ruled the news world, but now it is speculation, in many cases unfounded that carries the dat.

Her son died from a drug overdose. Her son was with her, and she let him die from drugs. It does not take too much intelligence to realize it was her money that paid for his drugs. This is not the action of a Mother who loves her children. It is quite possible she was overcome with grief after that event and suffering from depression and that was a contributing factor in her death.

I have little sorrow for rich celebrities who are drug addicted zombies. The whole point is all her friends and hanger-ons were living off of her income. I would not make excused for some celebrity. They do not live as most people do. They have lots of money and have no excuses. She could have got some help if she needed it. It is not like she can claim she was poor or underprivliged. Her lifestyle killed her son.

While she was definitely a screwed up person, that doesn't make her a monster. You accused her in your earlier post of being a childkiller via her own drugs. Now you say she enabled him to kill himself with her wealth and ignorance, with her lifestyle.
I guess you are modifying your original position which I protested. So now you're saying she didn't kill her son herself, but enabled him to kill himself. I guess that's better.
It's easy to speak ill of the dead, even easier for someone who lived as she did.
