What every geek wants?

An USB external HD enclosure that looks like an old hard drive. Pretty funny.

An external HDD housing that looks like a shoe? Could be the start of something...make the external HDD housing look like something else...a book, a clock, a box of tissues, etc...

There you go, that's an idea. I've already seen people turning larger objects into computers. I saw a picture of a model 747 with a computer inside. Max PC magazine has a section at the end with computer mods...I've seen some pretty neat stuff there. Shouldn't be too hard to modify the idea to hard drive enclosures. I suppose you could start with a basic hard drive enclosure, then build around whatever you wanted.

Ok...explain this to a non-geek, computer newbie...how is it different other than the port and 4 missing screws? Does a new hard drive fit inside? Is this drive larger? If it fits inside, how does it keep a modern drive cool enough?

I bravely admit that I don't get it.

It is an enclosure (hard drive goes inside of it) for a 2.5" (notebook) hard drive. Those drives don't need a lot of cooling.
