Very Cool Meeting

Had my very first-time meeting with glc face-to-face the past few days. Was a very wonderful time. He was passing thru town so we had dinner, he spent the night, had breakfast, etc. Having yakked with him for what seems longer than 7-8 years personally, plus all the PC help, one envisions what the other guy must be like. Believe me, he's not a guy (geek extreme) who only lives for answering all our questions. Yes, he has all his toys (gadgets) and is very personable as well. The gal bud and I very much enjoyed his company and wish we'd had a longer visit. I might add he comes across as being extremely intelligent in everyday life as well as fixing our computers when we hit a snag. The forum is blessed for his presence and help.

I more than agree with everything you've said Sarge. I've also had the chance to meet up with him several times, he's a simply a great guy.

Couldn't have said it any better. Looking forward to another baseball game with the Gman later this summer.

Not bad for an old man, huh?

That makes four of us who've met him, and I can't add much more than that, except maybe how great his sense of humor is. He's definitely a top notch mentor and forum administrator, but above all, a great friend.

He likes eye contact, and as he's looking you just know he's analyzing. In my case, he knows and has offered so much personal help thru the years I kept wondering if he was searching for "me" while looking. Anyway, an unusual fellow but very genuine, which is perhaps why we connected. Took him awhile to get all his gadgets in the truck connected for the road. He'll have my arse for even mentioning that part. Ladies and waitresses I know at the greasy spoon for breakfast all did their proper thing and made him a Texas welcome, even offered him a sack full of bisquits for the road.

About a year ago I was flying back to Puerto Rico and I had to make a plane change in Chicago. despite the fact that I was only going to be on the ground a few hours and most of that would be taken up with customs and immigration, George still took time out of his day to come down and meet me. We had a great (far too short) hour together, shared a beer and a few laughs before I was on my next flight.
He has always bemoaned me about the weather in PR so now I am back in the UK maybe I can entice him over for a visit to the land of song.

Ya... I gotta meet up with the old fart one of these days. Finances for me have been much better the past couple of years and things are ironing out quite nicely... a road trip just may be in my future.

GLC has to blush when he reads this stuff.

GLC, gonna be in Florida anytime soon? Actually, I may be meeting up with Tyler in a few weeks if the timing works out...in Orlando.

I don't have any plans at this time to be in Florida - but if I do, I will certainly let you know.
