When I went to the dealer I took a copy of my credit report and I was told that I could get the rate if I had a co-signer (I do). My credit score is very good but I don't have enough history.
I will definetely negotiate a price lower than MSRP. I will know the invoice before I start. I have been reading up on this in Consumer Reports, Edmunds.com, and HowStuffWorks.com.

This will be a great way to build up your credit rating. Just be sure to always make your payments on time. Prepaying doesn't get you anywhere in terms of building credit, just in saving interest payments (creditors reward you for using credit and paying for the privilege, not for avoiding it
).Since you know your prices, don't let them bully you because you're younger, or make you think you should pay more because you don't have a long credit history. You're doing THEM a favor buying from them, not vice versa. Good luck !

Well I did it. I bought the car. It's a 2007 Mazda 3 I Touring. This thing is simply fun to drive! Acceleration is amazing for a 2.0L. The steering is perfectly balanced and there is plenty of road feel. Everything about it has a quality feel as well. That is one major thing I look for in a car. There is nothing cheap looking/feeling on this thing. It rides so smooth and quiet. The sound system is very decent.
The best part is that I qualified for the 4.9% financing on my own! I did not need a co-signer. My insurance is surprisingly cheap as well. HERE are a few pics.
