Situation normal. This is no different than all the other releases of Windows. Not to criticize Microsoft..it's very understandable why this is the case. You have hundreds of people writing a very complex piece of software and people are not perfect. It just takes time to discover and fix these problems. I think most consumers understand this and it is why many people are waiting for the next service pack or two. Many of the software manufacturers need time to catch up as well.
The article criticizes Vista for having more bugs but Vista is also a more complex piece of software than XP, so yeah, it makes perfect sense that there are more bugs. You can bet there are more bugs and security holes that have not been discovered yet..all in good time these will be fixed. All complex systems have bugs when first put into operation. Software is no different, even with beta testing. That's just how the world works.

Very true. But, the article's just trying to compare the way XP matured to how Vista is maturing right now..Both had bugs
 .Just to be fair. Compared to Windows ME & 2000, XP was alot bigger step in OS complexity then Vista is to XP now. And XP had even more bugs on release, but 36 out of those 39 bugs were fixed in the first 6 months whereas only 12 out of 27 have been done so with Vista. Vista is a lot bigger step up from XP than XP was from 2000. You can't use ME as a comparison because it was based on the 16 bit Win9x kernel. 2000 and XP are both based on the 32 bit NT kernel.
