I was just thinking while I was voltmodding my 8800GTS. Why do all of us have DX10 cards? Are there and DX10 games? NO
So what are we doing paying $400 for a videocard with such great capabilities as running DX10 games if there are no DX10 games!!!! I'm a fool too, I own one. Please, someone try to help me understand why we have all have these cards

.. beats me .. I have a video card that does Office documents quite nicely. One of the cheapest components on any of my computers is the video card.

Doesn't it play DirectX 9 games quite nicely now? The 8800GTS/X outperforms any DirectX 9 only card out there. Not only are you paying for DX10 you are also getting more performance from other games.

Because they (8800 series) outperform anything else on the market, regardless of DX10. But your argument is very valid for low end DX10 cards (8600GT, 2600) which equal or in some cases under perform their DX9 predecessors and cost more.

Yeah. They are big and bad now but who's to say they'll preform as well on DX10 games as they are on DX9 games?
