It is likley yet another example of some one buying into a new development next to an exisitng 'feature' and then complaining about it after tehy move in.

I had to have a look at that since that is local - ish to me... I have seen

New devlopment on quarry edge where amusment park exists, then complaining about noise from park below - fireworks at night- people screaming on rollar coasters etc . (San Antonio - theme park on IH 10 and State 1604)

New development next to the exisiting sewage treatment plant (well OK is on othe side of 4 lane highway) - did ja now that sewage has an odor? and it does waft in the ever present wind?

In the same development they wanted to stop a gas station going in. Land was all zoned prior to any development from farm land. They bought homes on edge abutting the light commercial zone... never thought to ask about the land just behind your possible purchase property line - bit late now. Both here in Shakopee.

Ditto...First time I ever went dove hunting was where they built DFW Airport....The airport now has five terminals and enough land to build about 7 more terminals....New home additions have sprung up....People move in and then complain about airplanes flying over their houses at all hours....Go figure...

People want to live in the idyllic setting of the country....but aren't prepared for the realities of country life:
  • farm animals
  • farm animal smells and sounds
  • farm machinery (and sounds)
  • the different schedule farm folk live on
  • etc

if you move out there, you should adapt to the surroundings, not expect the surroundings to adapt to you.

Something like this makes me ashamed to be part of the human race.

Aww come on Cricket .. Mark's word play wasn't that bad! ... Ok we all know it was terrible but let's just let him have this one.

Seriously though, this is just another classic example of not taking responsibility for their own mistakes .. so they bought property beside a farm and didn't like it .. instead of learning from it and moving on they blame the animals!

Even though I don't really like lawsuits, I sure hope she takes some kind of legal action against the neighbor and the county after it's deemed unenforceable.

They could have easily settled this with the 3 kick rule.

Quote:
A big city lawyer went duck hunting in rural Arkansas. He shot and dropped a bird, but it fell into a farmer's field on the other side of a fence.

As the lawyer climbed over the fence, an elderly farmer drove up on his tractor and asked the lawyer what he was doing.

The lawyer responded, "I shot a duck and it fell into this field, and now I'm going to retrieve it."

The old farmer replied. "This is my property, and your not coming over here."

The indignant lawyer replied. "I'm one of the best trial lawyers in the US, and if you don't let me get that duck, I'll sue you and take everything that you own.

The old farmer smiled and said, "Apparently, you don't know how we do things in Arkansas. We settle small disagreements like this, with the Three Kick Rule."

The lawyer asked, "What is the Three Kick Rule?"

The farmer replied, "Well, first I kick you three times and then you kick me three times, and so on, back and forth until someone gives up."

The attorney quickly thought about the proposed contest and decided that he could easily take the old codger. He agreed to abide by the local custom.

The old farmer slowly gets down from the tractor and walked up to the city fella. His first kick planted the toe of his heavy work boot into the lawyer's groin, which dropped him to his knees.

His second kick nearly ripped the nose off his face.

The lawyer was flat on his belly, when the farmer's third kick to a kidney nearly causing him to give up, but didn't.

The lawyer summoned every bit of his will and managed to get to his feet and said, "Okay, you old geezer, now it's my turn."

The old farmer smiled and said,

"Naw, I give up, You can keep the duck!"

lol, I heard that joke before, but it's still funny.

Eh, some people just like to complain. But something like a cow mooing? Next thing you know, you'll have judges suing their dry cleaner's for 54 million. Wait a second...
