Question recomendations pleeeeez?

hi, iv been looking around sites for a while now and I was wondering if anyone could recomend me a site where i could buy an intel q6600 and that would ship to the uk or ireland as this option woul be much cheaper than actualy buying the processor from a uk or irish site as these sites sell the chips at around £380 or so pounds which is around 760$ which is absolutely rediculous as they are much cheaper in th US! around 400$ (am i right) its a shame we in europe are always ripped of so much!! lol
so any help anyone could give would be much appreciated thanks!

I don't think you can legally get around paying the relevant taxes and fees but there are some decent vendors based in Europe that can get you a discount. I'm sure some of the people from GB know of some. Try a search...I have seen them listed in this forum before.

Do you really need a Q6600? Why not just get a regular C2D instead? Easier to come by and cost less.

Wait about a month - the price is coming down significantly.

If you order from over here, the shipping will be costly, it will be delayed by Customs, and you will have to pay duty and taxes to get it.

It is not worth importing small things. Plus HMRC(revenue and customs) will give you a tax bill to pay when the object arrives anyway. Besides just have a hunt on various sites, ebyuyer, dabs. Prices do vary.

According to google:
199 British pounds = 398.7562 U.S. dollars

which is less than the $475 that newegg is charging: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115017

Currently the dollar is very weak against the pound. so 1 pound is worth 2 dollars. And 1 dollar is worth 50p. So for Brittish people going to america it is fantastic because everything is so cheap. Not very good for americans coming to England.

So will these lower-end Conroe-L get the price discounts as well? The single-Core Conroes are doing nice, but the stores in my place refused to stock up on these. They are 35W and I think could be a P4 replacement. What do you think?
