thanks Kov.

Welcome, welcome.

at the beginning of each month a new round starts - previous top 10's are forever enshrined in the Hall of Fame

the quiz consists of 10 questions on a wide range of topics (some topics you can see in the schedule and some that are custom and can be, shall we say, a tad off beat? esoteric? stupid? (BTW, I take suggestions for these custom topics. PM me with your suggestions). Please note that speed is taken into account when scoring, so the faster you go the better your score.

Also, please invite anyone you think might enjoy this, the more the merrier.

OK, really the title is misleading as I'm bumping this thread a day early...

New Trivia Round starts tomorrow! Play a practice round today, and gear up for next month's contest. We've had 40-50 players each month. Jump in and have a bit of fun!

I'd also like to float the request for general topics for the custom category...

lay 'em out and I'll tee 'em up.

A personal request for any 'general' quizzes on Classic Rock music, films of the last 20 years-or-so, perhaps even cars of the same period (though I'd be a bit rubbish with US models).

Oh, and a quiz on guitars might be treading the line of selfish, but no harm in asking

Apologies in advance for that one - the classical questions were very difficult! Mboss, do you know if there's any way to submit a correction after you've taken the quiz and left the answers page? The answer to the question on James Hetfield's 'Flying V' guitar is most definitely incorrect.

This was a custom category. you can always make your request for a specific category and if I can accommodate it, i will.

The custom categories always seem overly narrow.

How about Aviation History? That could be sweet. Not just people, either, but designs, cornerstone events...oh man.

we seem to be having a drop off in participation. Is something I am doing (or not doing) driving this drop off?

I've kind of drifted away, no fault of yours, mostly it's an issue of time. And lack of sleep :-) High speed trivia late at night is not my strong suite.....

I'm guilty. I usually do things as a result of updates. If I had a link sent to my email every day about the new quiz, it wouldn't be a problem. Right now I have to remember to go do it.

Yeah, I haven't been doing it as much either. I'm not on my regular computer, so I don't have it in my bookmarks. I was also kind of getting bored with it.

Aw man! I logged in to do the quiz, but decided to do it later before I even answered the 1st one! I quit the window, came back just now, did it darn quick and then got stuck with a time of 10,070 seconds.

Bummer.

I think, bossman, that the custom categories aren't really working. Nice to have a bit of variety and all, but I'd agree with Kov that it can hardly be classed as 'trivia'. And like you say, you can't see the questions before you take the quiz!

Personally, I'd have it more general - maybe three days of completely random trivia questions, then 4 days of trivia within a specific category - History, Geography, Science and Technology, and maybe something like culture to include films and such?

That make any sense?

k....i was thinking about trimming those back to once a week, I keeping running into questions that are unbelievably ridiculously difficult.

Freak,

your suggestion has nothing to do with today's....performance, would it?
