Congrats. What species?

So far this year we have had Killdeers, Chipping Sparrows, Tree Swallows and Robins successfully fledge. We are hoping for some Goldfinches too, but they have not decided on a tree yet.

They're tree swallows. Mom and Dad are actually allowing us to be pretty close to them... then again, that bird house is hanging right over our deck. They let us know when we're too close for their comfort or been watching for too long by swooping at us.

aww . last week i had to move a nest with little hatchings in it , the mother decided to make it on a feller buncher right in between the boom cylinder and the boom , the second i fired it up and moved it 10 feet the mother abandoned i noticed the nest and got out and moved it to another machine but she deserted them .

do they always desert if you move the nest ? i figured it was better then crushing them with the boom , but maybe i was wrong .

Depends, mostly though moving is going to cause abandonment,

BTW disturbing nesting birds (except exotics) is a volation of federal and international law dating back to 1917 (Google Migratory Bird Treaty Act). Exotics are introduced species in which case you can pretty much do what you want to the birds / nest / eggs / and hatlchlings within the law for prevention of crulty to aninmals - not that I'm telling....
