Keyboard Screws

Ok, so I disassembled a keyboard a few weeks ago with the intent of giving it a good cleaning and possibly a rattle can makeover.

Well, I cleaned all the keys just now and popped them all back in. When it came time to screw everything back together, I realized that I had nine small screws which didn't have a home. I found a nice home for six of those screws but three have been left homeless.

Long story short, maybe I shoulda written down which screws were for what when I took em out, hehe.

That's what digital cameras are for.

lol, indeed.

For important things such as my case disassembly (I drilled out the rivets) I took photos. Why I didn't take photos now, nobody knows. =P

Still, good point. When disassmbling anything, photos are as good or better than writing things down.

Actually, more experienced mechanics than me have said that if you don't have a few bolts left over after a swap or rebuild, you did something wrong. I think they might be right because I have a ton of bolts left over from mine and the engine is running fine. (Actually, there's a good reason -- I replaced a bunch of stuff and so most of the bolts are most likely from the stuff I replaced, and I used the new bolts.)

well you never leave out important bolts like con rod cap screws or something , then again some one i work with forgot the head gasket . i don't know why hes a really good mechanic , just slipped by him i guess .

i usually don't have enough screws when i take my keyboard apart .

Haha whoops...

I did an oil change on my Infiniti a couple weekends ago, and I was doing some work on the exhaust at the same time. I drained all the oil out, replaced the filter and put the plug back in, bolted the exhaust back up, and fired up the car -- without any oil! It took me about 15-20 seconds of trying to figure out why the car was running so rough before I noticed the oil pressure light. I shut the car off pretty quickly, put the oil in and it's been running fine ever since. I even took a trip up to New Jersey the next day without a hitch.
