Compressed air

I'm not too sure if I am posting this in the right place, I hope I am. I'm planning on getting rid of all the dust inside of my computer sometime this week and I was wondernig if someone here could advise me.

I came across this on amazon:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Belkin-Blast...6421511&sr=8-2

Will this do the job of getting rid of all the dust on the motherboard, PSU, fans etc? I haven't used compressed air before so I'm just curious of how much air is inside a 12oz can.. how many times could I clean out my computer with it (ofcourse, it depends on how much I use it).

If someone could also give me any other tips (like the do's and don'ts) that would be great!

Yes, that works well for cleaning your computer... how many cleanings you get will depend on how dirty your computer is.. you may get one, you may get half a dozen or so. How often you clean your computer will also depend on your environment and computer location. Computers sitting on the floor, especially carpet, get a lot dirtier than ones up on a table. I generally do mine every six months.

As for do's and don'ts..

Don't tip the can upside down, you will get liquid coming out. Try to keep the can as upright as possible.

Don't have fun by spinning up the fans in your system and listening to the cool whirring sound it will make.. it will also trash the bearings in the fans as they weren't meant for the speeds that you will be able to spin those fans up to.

DO your cleaning outside.. it may not look that dusty, but once you start blowing it out, you'll be glad it is outside. If it's a windy day, it's that much better.

Get at least 3 cans....They freeze up during use and can take a while before you can continue.

Make sure the pc is completely cooled down before cleaning.
