Boat Race

Was out doing errands but managed to catch a little of the boat racing being held today. I couldn't stay long but I did take a few shots and figured I'd share them

I believe they are "unlimited ultra lights". They announced the races were live on the Internet, but I couldn't find it when I got home. The helicopter "filming" the event looked straight out of some old Godzilla movie or the like. It almost looked like a toy in the air. I took a shot of it:

The helicopter ride looks more dangerous than the boat ride.

At least the helicopter was over the water, so if something did happen, you'd land in the "soft" water with all the rescue boats.

Speaking of rescue boats, below is a shot of one getting ready to toss a line to a stranded boat.

PS: The finals are today. They are suppose to be broadcasting on the Web if anyone can find it... I didn't have any luck.
