Hi bhome83,

The two most popular DVD software players are PowerDVD and WinDVD. I've only used PowerDVD because it came with my DVD drive but it has worked great so far and I've had no problems with it. It's also skin-able so I found some nice ones that match my Windows XP theme. Also, ATI video cards come with DVD software, I only used it a few times and it's simpler than the other two but it works good as well. Hope that helps.

i don't know what software i use with my current dvd player but its not very good. when i play dvds the title screen is totally offcenter and so is some of the extra features. this happens to every dvd movie i have. but when i play the movie in widescreen or fullscreen it plays fine. just want a dvd program that will let me see the entire title screen centered, instead of off centered. is everyone's dvd movies like this, or is it just me?

If you happen to be using WinME and have a hardware decoder (either separate, or built into the video card), go to your run command and type DVDPLAY.

PowerDVD has a really good software decoder in it.

WinDVD I hear really sucks without hardware decoding.

Lovitz is right. I've used both PowerDVD and WinDVD. PowerDVD is MUCH better. I've also used softDVDmax which is about as good as PowerDVD, though it is quite expensive. It may be a bit more available, retail, though.
