For Sports Fans -- off topic

I just can't resist. For those of you who are sports fans, even more so hockey fans, check out your regional edition of FoxSports at 7pm. College Hockey: Michigan State v. Michigan

This is arguably the biggest rivalry in college hockey -- and it's being played OUTDOORS in Spartan Stadium. Expected attendance is 72,000+.

As I type, I'm sitting in the press box watching the ice being prepped by the zamboni and listening to the Spartan Marching Band. This is absolutley amazing -- I wish I could have gotten my digital camera in here so I could up a picture for you all to see.

Sorry for the off topic post, but damn, this is just too cool.

GO STATE!

Okay -- I gotta tell you, this match was amazing. Loudest darn hockey match I've ever been to -- coldest too

I really can't express the sight of seeing hockey played outdoors in front of 74,554 people. Absolutley amazing.

Even sold two pics to the AP -- hot damn. I'll post them when I get clearance -- should be tongiht.

Okay, these are greatly reduced in detail, but here are two pics. The first I took just before faceoff. The second, I took Friday while the crews were on lunch. I wish I could put up the pic the AP bought, but they won't give me rights. But it's almost identical to the faceoff shot.

Again, I know this doesn't mean didly to most of you, but it was damn cool.

Wow, I didn't hear about this, that's a great idea (to have a game outdoors).

How much did AP give ya?

Considering it's been on CBS Sportsline, ESPN, FoxSports and others on the net not to mention in various papers, not enough. They had their own guy there, but I guess his faceoff shot showed all the camera flashes going off which reflected off the ice pretty bad, I took mine just before they dropped the puck. Advantage of having a high quality digital camera (brand new Olympus E10). Also helps having a most wonderful wife to bring said camera after I forgot my credentials and then got them straightened out.

I've had roughly a dozen and a half of my pics bought by AP and/or Reuters -- not to mention some video footage here and there.. Looks good on the ol' resume.
