Wow...

I'm not a gamer but have been hearing about a game called "Crysis" lately and was wondering what all the hub-bub about it was...then I saw this...wow...

The real picture looks like it was taken here in the islands.

Sure its pretty, but is it worth the thousands you need to spend for a rig that can render that in its fully glory?

Aren't hardcore gamers willing to spend that kind of money to get those kind of visuals?

I know I wouldn't build a computer that costs as much as a good used car, but I'm sure there are many gamers out there who would .

Wow, that is impressive. I haven't gamed in years, but looking at those screenshots I'm almost tempted to build a new gamer system.

My PC runs the demo at reasonable frame-rates on high settings. It is definetely the most visually stunning game produced thus far. It is simply amazing. What you don't see in the screen shots is the physics engine. If you throw a grenade into one of those shacks it can collapse with real-time physics. Here are a couple videos that show the physics in action:

Crysis Demo Destruction

Destroying Crysis

I am counting the days until the full game is released. When the next generation Nvidia cards are released I may have to upgrade so I can run the game on very high settings.

I guess I'm not a "hardcore" gamer then... or maybe I'm just a person with a budget, but no, it's too much to stay on top of things for me. Heck, I'm still running an ATI 800 AGP and don't have any problem with the visuals I get with FEAR, DooM, HL2, etc... Don't have anything newer than that, though. I'll wait some for Biosphere and Crysis to come down in price before I pick 'em up

it is very very close! Darn... my PCs aren't up to the Crysis task.

If i happen to upgrade for the Crysis game, my financial and wallet will be in Crisis!!

Nowadays, technology and games move too fast. Every year, the games look even more realistic.

Or like most games, you get thrown a curve ball and realize that you still have a ways to go.

Now where's that save point????

That would be perfect for those times where you just don't care, but yet don't want to suffer the consequences of your actions.

Or even better...who has the cheat codes????
