Enjoying Christmas Present

For an guy who spent his life outdoors working 32 years in all weather, who's known to have worn 3 pair of long johns plus overalls, snowboots and mask (just in Texas) to repair a phone line, who fished in the winter 5 nites a week on a dock with other fools shivering while other fellers were snuggled with mama while drinking cocoa and eating popcorn, who has sweated more water than the Lakes, old Sarge has found his honey-hole for the winter. Gal bud got me a California Pit thing to burn logs in on the patio, along with a huge bag of pinon (sp?) wood which is supposed to smell good. It does for me, hope the neighbors think so. I put on a few logs at dusk, grab a seat, turn on the TV and wireless headphones, open the patio blinds and sit back and enjoy all the shows - especially like all the Law and Order stuff. Gal bud's old hound dog wants to lay next to me and the fire after she goes to bed. Gotta tell you fellers, ain't much better than a cold night next to a warm fire and a dog to scratch while watching the tube. I will admit it makes me forget for awhile my troubles with the belly and esophagus. Doc can worry about that. For me, it's past 1:15 a.m. and need another log on my new pit. FYI:

I have a natural gas fire pit.. don't need to worry about the lumber and I get the same enjoyment from it... sometimes tis nice to just sit there and watch.. mebbe roast a hot dog or a marshmellow or two.

Nope. The onliest sister she has locally got us together by her own shenanigans at the VFW at Bingo, and she is hitched. The other unattached lives in the Bronx and has that attitude, if you follow...
