Cutting edge is alright but it's not for me, I'm going to wait till I hear good things. I'm not into spending time downloading updates. When all the bugs are worked out that is when I upgrade. I'm not argueing that it is going to a better operating system it's just that they cut these products loose on the public without being forthright about it's flaws. Everybody always ends up getting this information in bits and pieces from here and there. Believe me you will never see a label on thier package that says this is not a complete product
updates will be necessary. |

I blame the internet for that. It would have been suicidal for most companies to release the crap that they do. Example: Rainbow 6 needed a patch right out of the retail box just to work!. Rouge Spear needed one to get past level 6 or something. I can go on and on, but without the internet, how would they distribute patches? I think that companies feel obligated to release patches, so they knowingly release the crap they do.
But, since the creation of the internet, it seems quality has gone down. It is all hype then a rush to finish it to meet the created hype, which results in bugs. I can say that Team Fortress II was meant to be released months ago from first estimates, but they have pushed back the release a dozen times already. Hopefully, this is because they want to release a product that actually works. While I like Microsoft's attempt to solve all, somethings are best left to the third party developers. Microsoft is working for money, and while so is the freelance developer, they also have a passion for the work, else, why would they do it? I would trust a product from someone who likes to code, than one from a paid coder. Plus, Microsoft stuff always comes out this warped image of what it should have been. Media Player 7 is too awkward for me, their new CD Creator needs upgrading to do stuff that most free ones can do. The only good thing that they made was Solitaire and Hearts. Respectfully, Demosthenes |

Cobra I do not understand the update link that you provided, although it was very nice of you. Maybe the other members will benefit from it. Right now I gotta be honest I have no inclination to upgrade to Xp. I feel that I'm getting the most from my present operating system. Since I'm in the honest mood I'm not really a pathfinder. I mean I was coming to PC Mech for three years before I even decided to look further into the web site and take part in the forum.Actually I did not even realizie this forum even existed although I was visiting the home pages. Me I'd rather let the train go by then I might grab the next. Don't get me wrong I do have a thirst for information but I like to consume a picture as a whole and we are just not at that point with Windows XP.
