That's boring compared to our mention in Playboy

I really wouldn't consider it a favorable mention :
"Even without the operators, however, some sites complained about my use of small words, such as the word on. One site (PC Mechanic) even rejected the first phrase because of the word some. In a handful of cases, I had to rephrase the search term when the first attempt failed. Rephrasing rarely improved the search results." and PC Mechanic was rank last out of the sites he did review, but I what I really disagree with is the following : "Many of the free tech-support sites want you to register, post a question to one of their forums, or send e-mail. Phooey! When problems arise, you don't want to pussyfoot around with confirmation e-mails and other getting-to-know-you games." How hard is it to register? If you're that lazy that you don't want to research the problem then you probably should have someone fix the problem for you. An just because you don't find the answer by doing a search, doesn't mean it can't be solved by asking the question in the forum. I see questions answer pretty quickly here at PCMechanic with it usually just being a day's wait at the most. I think Scott Dunn should think hard about how he does reviews before he actually does one in my opinion.

Akin to Panama Red's favourite "Instant gratification mob" comment.

Hmmm.... I rate his opinion a 2 out of 10. What makes Scott Dunn an expert on the subject matter? ...the fact that he writes a column for a third rate website? Scott Dunn is obviously not on Drisley's payroll.

Tech Support Guy is ranked above PC Mech?!? I left that forum because of abusive moderators and lots of flame wars, trolls and such. What the heck?!?
Oh wait...this is about searching sites for answers? Not posting questions and getting responses? And who is Scott Dunn? Nevermind...who cares anyway. Cricket

the mods to spot trouble in a thread and either close the thread or get it back on track before things get out of hand. PC mechanic is the best overal tech support forum on the Internet. Not too big, not too small, but just the right size for regular visits to list all New Posts. Very well managed and great user to user support as well as expert moderators. ---pete--- |

I like using this site, it ticks over quite nicely with new posts not too much that you spend all day reading them all but enough to spend an hours lunch going through.
Everyone is willing to chip in with an idea to help out. The staff are sensible, and I don't see any arguements. |
