PCMech Fantasy Football League

Is it too early? I'm pumped for football season to start back up and hopefully with Brett Favre

Wayyy to early dude .. but we'll buzz you when we set it up again. But to play in the league you must try to inculcate a deep resentment of GLC... the guy seems to take garbage players and win

I hear that, I'm still bitter about last season. TO and Moss let me down. I'm ready for some revenge!

Favre on the Jets! Worth a pick-up? I'm not too sure, he is a gunslinger for sure but new offensive scheme and new WR's. He was a great QB last year fantasy wise and his best stats since '97. What do you guys think fantasy wise now that he's a Jet, is he a good or bad pickup? Risky or still reliable?

I think that speaks volumes on how his season will end up this year. I'd say risky.

lol I was watching a press conference and one of the reporters asked Favre if he was worried about the Madden curse. Favre just said "No" but the look on his face was pretty funny. Like what a dumb question haha. I think the madden curse has already affected him, I mean he's playing for the JETS. I think he'll be fine physically, always has been, not his first football game cover either.

Shaun Alexander said it best, "Do you want to be hurt and on the cover, or just hurt."

I got the invite too, and I can't wait to play. Has the draft time been set, or are we just getting auto-notifications?

You should have gotten an auto invite if you were in it last year - it would have been sent to the primary e-mail address that you have registered in the Yahoo fantasy system.

I'll be the fng and ask:

How does this work? What is involved?

If I understood it a bit better, I would probably like to participate.

Here is the 'gist' shadow. We have a 'draft' where we pick our favorite players, or more importantly who we think will have the best seasons, for each position. Then during the season, as those players do well on the field, such as scoring TDs, kicking FGs, or just having incredible receiving/rushing yards, we get points. So each week you try to outscore your opponent. It continues all the way through a playoff until someone in the league is the winner.

No. It works just like any other draft. The way the league is set up, you play the following each week:

1 QB
2 WR
2 RB
1 TE
1 Flex (can be either a WR or RB)
1 K
1 team defense
1 individual defensive player

You also have 6 bench players of any position.

You rotate them in and out with your bench each week, depending on byes, injuries, and who you think is better. You can drop "bad" players and replace them with "free agents" (players who nobody has picked) any time during the season. You get points corresponding to each individual's stats that particular week. You "play" a different opponent in the league each week, whoever gets the most points wins the game.

If you are a beginner, I recommend you let the computer pick the players during the draft.

If you want to get a better understanding, hit me up on IRC.
