Boxo & Chips
Try updating your video driver and DirectX.
If that doesn't help, work backwards...what was the last thing you installed? Software? Hardware? If removed or uninstalled, does the problem go away? Check device manager for conflicts and check your IRQ assignments. Make sure video and sound cards are not sharing IRQ's with anything. Boxo: Provide a list of components for each PC. Knowing what kind of parts you're using makes it easier to diagnose your problem. Cricket

re: IRQ
When you go to Device Manager, right click on the computer icon at the top of the tree and select Properties. A new box will open that lists your IRQ assignments (if not, look for the IRQ option at the top). Look down the list and make sure your video card isn't sharing the IRQ with any other device.
I suspect the video drivers need to be updated in this case. You could also try this...click on Start> Run> and type in DXTOOL (if you get a message saying it cannot be found, browse to the Windows directory and look for it there or in c:Windows\System). When the box opens up, click on the appropriate tab and see if the video card is operating optimally. Cricket

10:ACP IRQ-holder. 10:ACP IRQ-holder. 10:VIATECH 3038PCI/USB Universal host controller 10:VIATECH 3038PCI/USB Universal host controller 10:3D Prophet 2 MX So far nothings happen again. any suggestion about my RIQ? Thanks in advance: |

re: Chips
Is your video card a PCI card? It's sharing the IRQ with the USB controller right now (which you don't want it to do). Are you using any USB devices? If not, you may want to disable "Assign IRQ to USB" in BIOS. Also, you can gain a few more IRQ's if you go into BIOS and disable COM1 and COM2 if you aren't using any of the serial ports.
Restart your PC and as soon as you see the "Verifying DMI Pool Data..." line click and hold the Ctrl key. The Boot Menu screen will appear, choose to start the PC in Safe Mode. Once you reach the Windows desktop in Safe Mode, right click on My Computer and choose Properties. When the System Properties box appears, click on the Device Manager tab and then expand every branch by clicking on the "+" sign next to it. If you find any duplicate entries for any of your devices, remove all the entries. Repeat for all the duplicate devices you find. Reboot your PC. When it starts to load Windows, it will find new devices and load the drivers for them. Check your IRQ assignments again in Device Manager to see if the video card is still sharing the IRQ with another device. You may also want to go back and check Device Manager in Safe Mode again, just to double check there are no duplicate device entries anymore. Exactly which problem are you experiencing? The green lines on screen or the lock ups during games? Cricket

Chips will not be able to change the IRQ assignments - ACPI is controlling them. You may be able to disable ACPI in the bios and Windows will then install a "fail-safe" bios that will allow it to allocate IRQ's more sensibly.

Hi CRICKET! You made it! I follow all that you told me about "Verifying MI Pool Data..." line click and hold the Ctrl key.
The Boot Menu screen will appear, choose to start the PC in Safe Mode. And find any duplicate entries for any of my devices. I found duplicate in my soundcard and I delete it. And now my computer run fine now and i also update my video card driver. Is nice to be here in PC MECHANICS with all nice people like you. I awe you man. thanks a lot and for GLC. Regards: |
