Orbitz

My fault, i guess--not reading all rules, etc. but booked flight and hotel thru Orbitz for little over $600.00 and due to sickness in family had to cancel trip. called few days before scheduled departure and was informed i would receive refund of $44.00, which i haven't noticed as of yet on my credit card bill. So, word of advice if you are not absolutely positive of trip, book thru regular airlines, etc. an expensive lesson for me...won't happen again i assure you and definitely will never use Orbitz again no matter price difference.

Airlines won't refund your ticket either. Most tickets are non refundable non transferable. My wife is going to have a plane ticket that she will not be using over thanksgiving because she will already be up here due to our house selling faster than expected.

They sell Flight Cancelation type "Insurance" for things like this...It costs more up front but can come in handy.

Check with your credit card company, it may have trip cancellation insurance on it... I know mine does.
