Obama and Outsourcing

We all know that Obama has made it clear that he is going to make restrictions on outsourcing. If implemented then that means trouble for many countries who relies on outsource businesses like call center and others. Do you think it’s a sound decision made by him?

I'm just going to state right now.. to anyone who is going to agree now with the outsourcing, don't be crying later at higher pricing.

Ditto to the price statement. And I'd throw in the part about the quality going down a bit too. I read an article about the typical - read from a script - call center person in India for example, has a serious college degree. Its hard to get college grads in the ISA for minimum wages.

I think it's a good idea to restrict outsourcing; even if price goes up and quality goes down, as long as there are jobs you will be able to afford it. If the jobs are outsourced and you aren't making any money, no matter how low the cost and how high the quality, you still won't be able to afford it.

I fully agree with that.
Folks here in the USA always want to start at the top.
They always want to be paid 5 times more than what they are actually worth.
That's why the US auto manufacturers have collapsed, as one example.
People want 25./hr for minimum wage work.
It's a double edged sword.

I bet this thread gets locked down in less than a dozen posts.

You can have less outsourcing or lower prices, but you cant have both. The less efficient an economy becomes, the more investment capital leaves that economy...taking jobs with it.

Folks, we appreciate your courteous and respect conduct with this topic so far, but we're going to preemptively close this thread because politics is a certain volatile topic. Irvine, please refer to the pointer posted in another one of your thread by a fellow moderator, rjf.
