I am curious as to what is in the picture that I have attached. Would anyone here happen to know what it is? It's in a hotel room.

hmm .. i clicked on the pic before reading , thought u asking about a pc component lol
i think its a motion sensor .. or fire sensor .. its fixed on the wall , right ? guess its a motion sensor for security stuff .. |

I would guess motion detector too. Could be for the lights.
Or a light sensor for the lights.

take it apart and see if there is a camera in it
 just kiddingmotion detector, I have a whole bunch of those in my home and they are attached to the security system. |
